We are seeking a team of self-motivated and customer focused people to join our Regulation and Compliance team as Parking Compliance Officers.
To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to work efficiently and operate effectively, undertaking parking enforcement duties around the Shellharbour City Council Government area. This involves patrolling and surveillance of public streets, reserves and other Council managed car parks with an overall view of promoting and education of legal parking practices while ensuring vehicles are parked in a safe manner.
This is a very active role with most patrols conducted on foot.
The successful candidate will have
- Experience in a customer facing or customer service related roles and knowledge in a regulatory/enforcement environment
- Ability to problem solve through initiative and decision making
- Ability to handle difficult situations through sound negotiation, conflict resolution and mediation skills
- Strong verbal communication and ability to communicate calmy and effectively with a diverse range of people
- Excellent written communication, including an ability to write and prepare accurate infringements as well as concise and accurate reports, which may be used in court.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and follow reasonable work directions in an accurate and timely manner.

- 4 x full time permanent positions, 38 hours per week with a 9-Day fortnight
- Peak and non peak season roster comprising of a 38 hours over 7 days per week roster, and 38 hours over 5 days per week roster.
- Commencing salary range from $60,556 per annum (based on skills and experience)
- Plus 11.5% superannuation
- Saturday/Sunday and public holiday work attract penalties or overtime as approved

Please note these positions require:
- A National Police History Check clearance
- A current "Working with Children Check" clearance in accordance with the 'Child Protection (WWC) Act 2012 for Paid workers
- Pre-placement Assessments, which can include medical and psychometric testing
