The Oppor­tu­ni­ty

We seek a Mechanic to work within the Municipal Services department, the position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of Council’s vehicles, plant, machinery and equipment in a safe working condition. Under the general direction of the senior mechanic, ensure all maintenance and repairs are carried out in accordance with appropriate maintenance schedules. Contribute to the planning and execution of work in an effective and efficient manner, limit waste and ensure accurate records are maintained.

Your responsibilities will be including but not limited to contribute to the management of Council’s repair and maintenance program ( including planning maintenance schedules, sourcing and ordering parts , inspecting and reporting on completed maintenance tasks, preparing recommendations for equipment replacement and repair), in collaboration with the senior mechanic to ensure daily service and maintenance program requirements are communicated and coordinated with Depot management, repair and maintain a wide range of Council plant, machinery and equipment including the specialist C-Bus system for the road sweeper, maintain accurate daily work records and report issues including necessary repairs to Supervisor in a timely manner.
