About the role

The City of Coffs Harbour (City) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced On-site Sewage Management (OSSM) Plumbing and Drainage Regulation Officer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective and efficient regulation and enforcement of on-site sewage management and plumbing and drainage in accordance with relevant Acts, Statutes, and the City's policies to protect public and environmental health outcomes.

You will be expected to assist the Team Leader with the development, review and implementation of strategies and policies that govern the oversight of on-site sewage management systems and plumbing and drainage consistent with the objectives of the My COFFS Community Strategic Plan 2032.

About you?

  • Degree in Environmental Health, Environmental Science (or similar), or equivalent experience in a related discipline within a regulatory context.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the installation, operation and maintenance of on-site sewage management systems and plumbing and drainage.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the regulatory environment including its practical application relevant to the position.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Starting salary from $92,873.20 + superannuation
  • Permanent Full Time 35 hours per week
