Join Our Team as an Operations Tradesperson - Construction!

Permanent Full-Time Position: Enjoy a balanced 38-hour week with a 9-day fortnight (including a Rostered Day Off)! Salary between $68,381.56 - $79,470.56 per annum plus 11% Superannuation (commensurate with Experience and Qualifications).

 

About the Role:

As an Operations Tradesperson - Construction, you will play a vital role in the construction of Council’s roads and drainage infrastructure assets. This position offers diverse opportunities across various disciplines and project teams, involving a range of manual labouring, plant operation, and skilled construction tasks. You will engage closely with internal and external stakeholders, and occasionally interact with community members to ensure collaborative project delivery.

Essential Criteria

  1. Certificate III in Construction or related discipline and demonstrated experience in construction and/or maintenance (roads and drainage) operating of construction equipment and tools relevant to the field.
  2. Proven ability to follow instructions within a team environment, and to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  3. Demonstrated ability in the use of computer applications, and operating devices effectively, embracing digital solutions for works activities to enable field productivity and scheduling based systems to facilitate day- to-day operations.
  4. Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders in delivering information on operational and maintenance services.
  5. Hold and maintain MR Class Drivers Licence, Traffic Control Combo (Stop Slow Bat and Implement Traffic Plans) and WHS Induction Card with a willingness to obtain within 12 months of employment; Level 1 Accredited Chainsaw – Trim & Crosscut Fallen Trees, Working near live electrical apparatus (non-electrical worker) certification, and current First Aid certificate.
  6. Maintain MR drivers licence without restriction and ability to operate manual transmission
  7. Be willing to participate in on-call roster and overtime (where applicable)
