About the Role

 

The Occupational Therapy Manager is responsible for providing and coordinating occupational therapy services for inpatients, outpatients, and community clients in accordance with professional codes of ethics and Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures.  This role includes managing staff and departmental resources, providing professional oversight and mentorship to junior staff, and ensuring high-quality, client-centred care.

 

The Occupational Therapy Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting service delivery, fostering professional development, and maintaining standards of clinical practice across the department.

 

About You

 

You are a highly skilled and experienced occupational therapist with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualifications recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. You bring proven expertise in delivering a broad range of occupational therapy services across diverse clinical settings.

 

In a leadership capacity, you have demonstrated operational and human resource management experience, including the ability to supervise staff and maintain professional accountability. You apply advanced clinical reasoning and professional judgment to complex situations, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based care.

 

With highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, you are able to engage confidently across all organisational levels, employing consultation, negotiation, and conflict resolution to support teams and service delivery. You work effectively both autonomously, with minimal direct supervision, and collaboratively as an integral member of interdisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of professional excellence and client-centred care.
