The Package: This position is employed under the LG (State) Awrad with a Total Remuneration Package starting at $165,681.26 gross per annum, inclusive of a vehicle allowance, and 11% superannuation. There are also guaranteed increases of 3.5% in 2024-25 and 3% in 2025-2026.

Full-time – 35 hours per week. Flexible work arrangements will be considered.

In this role you will:

  • Shape the future of Council’s Waste Services branch and oversee programs, projects and assets associated with effective waste management.
  • Motivate and lead a high performing team to meet statutory requirements, reporting standards and best practice in waste management services to the community.
  • Oversee the operation of ten waste transfer stations and minimisation centres, two buy-back centres, and a complex waste collection network.
  • Improve customer experience and service quality in waste management services.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Relevant qualifications in Waste Management, Project Management, Civil Engineering and/or substantial working experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of waste minimisation issues and trends, including relevant legislation.
  • Manage change and improvement of business practices and processes to support Council be an industry leader.
