Position Number: 4002                           Location: Queanbeyan

The Package: This position is employed under the LG (State) Award with a Total Remuneration Package starting at $186,888.80 gross per annum, inclusive of a vehicle allowance, overtime allowance and + 11.5% superannuation. There is also a guaranteed increase of 3% in 2025-26, plus potential performance-based progression.

Full-time– 35 hours per week. Flexible work arrangements may apply.

 

QPRC is seeking a passionate professional to lead our Urban Landscapes branch and help shape a vibrant, sustainable future for our community. You’ll drive the design, development and activation of urban parks and community spaces.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the strategic presentation and activation of parks, gardens, playgrounds, sports fields and urban spaces to enhance community enjoyment and identity
  • Manage the planning, performance and delivery of projects, policy and programs across public domain spaces, ensuring alignment with Council’s strategic goals.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team to manage assets, operations, and initiatives in a collaborative and sustainable way.
  • Represent Council and collaborate with community, business, and agency stakeholders.

 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has demonstrated leadership experience in managing urban landscapes, open space planning with relevant qualifications in Urban Design or a related field
  • Can balance strategic thinking with operational excellence, and thrives in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Brings a passion for sustainability and community-focussed delivery of quality public spaces
