We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Manager Risk and Governance to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring our Council meets its legal obligations, upholds public integrity, and delivers exceptional service to our community.

Position Overview

As the Manager Risk and Governance, you will provide high-quality service and advice across governance, policies/procedures, legislative compliance, risk management, insurance, GIPA requests, and integrated planning and reporting. You will work closely with the Council, General Manager, and senior leaders to support informed decision-making and maintain robust governance frameworks.

Who are we looking for?

Key requirements for the successful candidate are:

  • Tertiary qualification in law, corporate governance, public policy, business, or related discipline with extensive experience in a governance-related role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management principles and experience in risk and compliance management.
  • Expertise in insurance renewals and claims, and managing insurance portfolios.
  • Sound knowledge of Local Government legislation and processes, including experience in the administration and interpretation of the Local Government Act and Regulation, Integrated Planning and Reporting, and other relevant legislation.
