The Package: The Total Remuneration Package is between $182,632.80 - $200,172.97 gross per annum, inclusive of a vehicle allowance and 11.5% superannuation. There is also a guaranteed increase of 3% in 2025-26, plus potential performance-based progression.

Full-time – 35 hours per week. Flexible work arrangements will be considered for this role.

Are you a leader in human resources and workplace safety and looking for a new challenge in an operationally diverse local government organisation?

In this role you will:

  • Oversee and manage a team of 13 HR and WH&S professionals, working in functions including recruitment, learning and development, payroll, workplace investigations, workplace safety and wellbeing.
  • Manage and improve Council’s employment lifecycle to ensure Council’s talent have an engaging and safe experience at work.
  • Developing and aligning Council’s workforce plan to align with Council’s delivery program and operational plans to foster sustained organisational performance.
  • Timely engagement with Council’s executive and leadership teams to identify emerging workforce challenges and develop strategies to address them.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant qualifications in human resource management, industrial relations or workplace health and safety with extensive management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality human resources and WH&S services to a large organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience with cultural change management, developing and implementing process improvements and establishing organisational strategic plans that align with goals and objectives.
