Wollondilly Shire Council is experiencing tremendous growth and an opportunity exists for an experienced leader to manage Council’s Parks and Recreation Team.

This exciting management role will lead our Parks and Recreation team in providing exceptional customer service and quality services to our community. Reporting to the Director Shire Services, you will be responsible in providing leadership and strategic direction to the Parks and Recreation team in the management and coordination of various community services within the Shire.

Selection Criteria - Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant and applicable area
  • A minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience with an understanding of the areas of expertise within Parks and Recreation.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, influence and drive change to gain commitment and develop a high-performance culture.
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and influence at all organisational levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the development of schedules and delivering services
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding operational and delivery planning, budget management and reporting
  • Demonstrated procurement and contract management of applicable contracts (e.g. mowing, street sweeping & town beautification)
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Class C Drivers Licence

 

Desirable Requirements

·      Local Government Experience in the recreational services area

·      An understanding of the principles of Asset Management as it relates to services delivery strategies
