Council is seeking a strategic and experienced finance leader to take on the role of Manager Financial Services, a position critical to the long-term financial sustainability and operational performance of the organisation.

Reporting to the Director Corporate, the Manager Financial Services oversees Council’s budgeting, financial reporting and compliance and core financial operations. The role is also responsible for strategic forecasting and financial risk management, and plays a key advisory role to senior executives and Council.

Leading a skilled team including accounting professionals and coordinators across rates and procurement, the position ensures that systems, processes and reporting frameworks are both compliant and future-focused. This includes managing statutory financial statements, coordinating audits, overseeing treasury functions, and driving continuous improvement in financial services delivery.

This is a rare opportunity to shape Council’s financial position and contribute meaningfully to decision-making and service delivery in a regional context. You’ll work closely with internal departments, external auditors, Councils Audit and Risk Committee, community members and government stakeholders to ensure sound financial governance and value for ratepayers.

We are seeking a values-driven professional with demonstrated success in financial leadership, preferably within local government or a comparable environment. You’ll combine technical expertise with excellent communication and people management skills, and bring a commitment to integrity, accountability and quality service delivery.
