ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for maintaining and enhancing community assets and facilities? We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager Facilities and Services to drive the effective management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Council’s assets and services.

Reporting to the Director Corporate and Community, the role is responsible for leading and managing the Facilities Management Section to ensure Council’s facilities meet high standards of safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

This includes being responsible for managing an annual Facilities Management operating budget of approximately $2,697,000, an annual swimming pool operating budget of approximately $2,452,000, and an annual Fleet and Plant operating budget of approximately $5,100,000.

• Tertiary qualifications at degree level relative to the position.
• Demonstrated capacity to align management practices to the Ballina Shire Council corporate values.
• Demonstrated extensive experience and ability to lead and manage the operations and delivery of functions for the Facilities Management section.
• Proven thorough knowledge of asset management and maintenance principles and practices as related to community assets and whole of life cost implications for Council.
• Demonstrated experience in contract and project management.
• Demonstrated experience in facilities asset management.
• Demonstrated experience in stock control and management.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic asset management planning and fleet management.
• Demonstrated track record of driving a culture of excellence in customer service and continual improvement.

The rewards

• An annual salary of up to $158,300 per annum (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
• A leaseback vehicle for work and private use is also available in accordance with Council’s Light Motor Vehicle Policy. A leaseback vehicle for work and private use in accordance with Council’s Light Motor Vehicle Policy, with additional fuel radius allocation for private use of the vehicle
• Support toward the cost of relocation associated with recruitment.
• 9 day fortnight working arrangement.
