An important & vital role within Walcha Council, the successful applicant will drive improvements and management of Council assets and project delivery. The Position

This is a permanent full-time position, and will help us create, maintain and improve our asset management systems and project framework and delivery. Depending on the candidate, there is also the possibly of a significant role in navigating upcoming renewable development and management of Council’s facilities.

You will use your asset and engineering skills to create a clear picture of where Walcha is now, your management skills to provide robust and effective asset and project systems, and your strategic skills to prepare Walcha for the best possible future.

About You

Able to liaise across the whole community and keen to develop an accurate picture of where we stand now and what we will look like in the medium term. You will hold relevant qualifications and industry experience in Asset Management and/or GIS systems, and/or Project Management. Ideally you will have lengthy experience in Local Government, or relevant industry experience.

You will work well with our team, and contribute to Council efforts in moving toward the mutually shared goals of efficiency, sustainability and a positive workplace. Our Community Strategic Plan is our guiding document, developed by the community it provides all employees within Council a clear set of goals to be achieved. You will be a vital contributor to this process.

You will ensure that Walcha Council fulfils our responsibilities under the relevant Acts, Legislations and Policies, and that we continue to provide best practise activities in alignment with the latest standards & guidance.

Supported by an enthusiastic and progressive minded Executive team and dynamic General Manager, this is an opportunity that you don’t want to miss.

 

What we Offer

This position has (35 hours per week) a negotiable starting wage of $2213.80 (gross per week) based on the Local Government (State) Award 2023.

Depending on your qualifications and the expertise that you can bring, Council is prepared to be negotiable on the terms and conditions of this position, including provision of a private use vehicle.

You will be working under a motivated and improvement led local government veteran in our Director Infrastructure & Development who will provide leadership and mentoring to set you apart in your career as a local government asset and project specialist.  Council will also ensure you are a valued member within a friendly, supportive and encouraging environment, and your responsibilities and actions will reflect Walcha Council’s core values of teamwork, respect, customer first focus and willingness to carry out assigned tasks.
