As a Maintenance Welder you'll work with our team at the Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets, considered one of the largest selling centres in Australia in terms of combined sheep and cattle numbers! You'll play a vital role in maintaining the operational integrity of our saleyards while adhering to stringent animal welfare standards and EPA regulations. You'll be an integral part of our team, ensuring the livestock markets are maintained smoothly and efficiently, all while contributing to the nurturing of a supportive and collaborative work environment.

You'll work with a great team to:

  • Carry
    out welding and metal fabrication work to repair and maintain livestock
    handling infrastructure, including gates, pens, ramps, and railings
  • Perform routine inspections of metalwork to identify and address potential issues, to ensure infrastructure is functional and maintained
  • Maintain
    and service welding equipment to ensure it is in safe and working condition
  • Euthanizing
    and disposing of crippled/diseased stock
  • Operate
    plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Assist with general duties at the Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets as required


What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Hold a firearms licence or demonstrated ability to obtain
    same
  • Welding
    Trade Certificate II and demonstrated welding experience
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in plant operation
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • C Class Drivers Licence
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card)

We would also love you to have:

  • Knowledge/experience in livestock handling
  • MR Drivers Licence
  • Certificate II Agriculture
  • Forklift Licence

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $65,812 to $76,484.
