Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to work within the Culture and Libraries team based at the Moree Library.

  • Temporary Full-Time (24-month traineeship) – 35 hours per week
  • Location - Moree

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Trainee Library Assistant role is a 24-month training and development career opportunity aimed at individuals who are self-motivated and driven to make the most of this opportunity to excel in their career.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023.

ABOUT YOU

Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications: 

  • Commit to undertaking a Certificate III in Library and Information Services (twenty four month traineeship)  and to undertaking a 24 month on the job traineeship
  • Ability and willingness to participate in the delivery of Library events and activities.
  • The ability to communicate positively and effectively with both adults and children.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills, ability to work as part of a team and maintain confidentiality.
  • Sound literacy and numeracy skills.
  • The ability to work as both a team member and unsupervised.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and multi-task.
  • NSW working with children check clearance
  • Ability to provide evidence of vaccination/immunisation
