The primary purpose of the role is to lead a crew to provide a high level of service in the repairs, maintenance and construction of water, sewer and drainage infrastructure in line with Council’s delivery and operational plans.

This includes:

  • Plan and undertake construction, repairs and maintenance works on Council’s water and sewer assets, utilising a variety of plant and technology to ensure safe and effective operations and service life of assets
  • Complete required documentation for all works, ensuring compliance with requirements, legislation and obligations
  • Maintain effective and timely communication with your supervisor, team and other colleagues or members of the public to ensure safe completion of quality outcomes within set timeframes, maintaining a customer service attitude at all times
  • Champion a safety culture within the team to ensure a safe work place for our people by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects plans and any other documentation required for the successful delivery of capital and maintenance works
  • On-call availability within a rotating roster

We are looking for 

  • A motivated leader to join our water sewer team in Evans Head
  • An individual with a safety-first focus and is pro-active with safety issues and initiatives
  • Someone who can prioritise and has an eye-for-detail in coordinating works and delivering required documentation for the crew
  • Someone who is flexible, adaptable and responsive to change

We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:

  • Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
  • Current Class MR Driver Licence
  • 3 years' experience in a similar environment

About the Role

Full time: 76-hour fortnight

Salary: Range from $56,180 to $64,610 pa + 11% super

NOTE: As the activities of this position could involve exposure to Hepatitis A and B and Q Fever, the employee will be vaccinated against these hazards or required to provide proof of immunity against these diseases.
