About the role
This is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday 7.00 am to 4.00 pm position working 38 hours per week. This position is located at the Bomaderry Works Depot. Please note previous applicants need not apply.

Duties
Reporting directly to the Team Supervisor – Central Maintenance, the focus of this position is to:

  • Undertake manual tasks including but not limited to shovelling, screeding, raking, digging, lifting and traffic control
  • Operate and maintain medium heavy plant items Rollers, Backhoes, Heavy and Light rigid trucks as required
  • Operate and maintain small plant items such as chainsaws, plate compactors, jack picks, concrete saws, electric power tools, vegetation trimmers, etc
  • To work under routine supervision and direction either individually or in a team environment on a range of projects
  • Deliver quality workmanship in all tasks
  • Complete standard paperwork such as timesheets and daily site safety checklists, both written and electronically
  • Any other tasks and activities within the construction / maintenance environment within the employees’ abilities.

On call – Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • School Certificate or equivalent
  • Minimum of 12 months’ work experience in civil construction and/or maintenance activities
  • Demonstrated experience in operating minor and major plant and/or light trucks
  • Minimum NSW Class MR Driver’s Licence or equivalent licence valid in NSW
  • Current RMS Issued Traffic Control or SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training Cards –
  • ‘Traffic controller’ and ‘Implement traffic control plans’ or willingness to obtain
  • Current NSW General Construction induction card (white card) or accepted interstate alternative.
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship
