Leading Hand opportunity at RVC
The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of service in the construction and maintenance of Council’s infrastructure in line with Council’s operational and delivery plans.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the team to deliver safe and effective repair of pavement infrastructure and traffic control services in accordance with provided work plans, work zone traffic management plans and any other relevant legislation
- Assist in the preplanning, programming and delivery of routine works including post works record keeping requirements, and ensuring works comply with relevant specifications and legislative requirements
- Make modifications to traffic management plans provided by others in accordance with established and recognised standards when required
- Contribute to a positive safety culture within the organisation through completion of required documentation, reporting incidents/hazards/near misses and contributing to team discussions
- Initiate and encourage innovative work practices and procedures whilst maximising utilisation of resources
- Use and maintain small plant and hand tools in a safe and effective manner
About You
We are looking for a motivated leader who wants to lead and mentor a crew to develop themselves and deliver work on time and within budget. You are -
- Experienced in a range of road patching vehicles and are able to prioritise your workload and crew efficiently
- Equipped with an eye for detail and able to complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Flexible, adaptable and responsive to change
- Equipped with a safety-first focus and continuously looking for ways to provide the best outcome for our staff and our community
We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:
- Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
- Class HR Driver Licence
- SafeWork accredited certificate for Traffic Controller
- SafeWork accredited certificate for Implement Traffic Control Plans
About the Role
Full time: 76-hour fortnight
Salary: Range from $56,217 to $64,651 pa + 11.5% super
