Tweed Shire Council is seeking a passionate and innovative Landscape Architect to deliver high-quality urban design and landscape solutions across our diverse open space network. 

Reporting to the Manager - Parks and Active Communities, you’ll play a key role in shaping the region’s outdoor spaces, managing budgets, and delivering projects that enhance community life.

About the role:

  • provide expert advice and creative solutions for public spaces
  • collaborate with internal teams, developers, and consultants
  • contribute to policy development and planning strategies
  • oversee projects from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with Council’s standards.

What's on offer:

  • a base salary ranging from $95,331 per annum with competency-based increments up to $109,716 per annum, plus 11.5% super
  • a maximum-term contract of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension or permanency subject to performance, funding and operational needs.

We are seeking:

  • degree in Landscape Architecture with a minimum of 5 years practical experience
  • experience managing and delivering high-quality landscape and open space projects while ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
  • a strong understanding of modern landscape construction methodologies and adherence to industry standards
  • experience in delivering creative and innovative design solutions, incorporating environmentally responsible design initiatives and best practice placemaking principles.

Where it's located:

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
