About the Opportunity

Port Macquarie Hastings Council is looking to build a candidate pool of Labourers and Truck Drivers,

Working within our Infrastructure and Utilities (Water and Sewer) teams you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the maintenance development of our infrastructure.

We are looking for team players with a strong work ethic, reliability, and physical fitness to handle the demands of manual labour.

To be considered for a Labourer position, you must possess a valid driver's license and a Construction Induction Card (White Card). To be considered for a Truck Driver Position; you must also hold a Heavy Rigid (HR) License. Strong communication, literacy, and numeracy skills are essential to excel in these roles. Please note that the Truck Driver role does include a labour component as these duties are essential to the role.

These tickets are not essential but will be highly regarded:

  • Heavy Combination (HC) Truck Licence
  • Current Traffic Controllers Ticket
  • Crane and Plant Electrical Safety/5099/Working Near Powerlines
  • MR License (Labourer Positions)

Successful candidates from this recruitment activity may be appointed to immediate vacancies or placed on an eligibility list for future opportunities within the next 12 months.

Remuneration and Allowances - Labourer

Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with 9-day fortnight)

Salary (exclusive of super): Starting salary of $56,943.50 per annum with the opportunity for competency-based progression.

Allowances: Adverse Working Level 1 - $18.92 per week or Adverse Working Leve 2 - $48.94 per week (depending on group) / On-call - $216 per week

Remuneration and Allowances - Truck Driver

Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with 9-day fortnight)

Salary (exclusive of super): Starting salary of $61,560.59 annum with the opportunity for competency-based progression.

Allowance: Adverse Working Level 1 - $18.92 per week
