ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
We are looking for an energetic customer focussed individual to join our Information Systems section. Reporting to Council’s Coordinator Information Technology, this position provides practical advice and problem solving support to all users across applications, operating systems, network infrastructure, and hardware troubleshooting. Working as part of a small team, you will contribute to the application of Council’s IT security protocols and data integrity standards, including user account management, data encryption, and multi-factor authentication (MFA), to protect sensitive information and maintain system security.

- Currently enrolled in, or partially completed, a tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience in a technical support role.
- Demonstrated understanding and practical experience with both on premise and cloud-based infrastructure, particularly in networked environments managed through Microsoft Azure and Intune for device management.
- Awareness of cybersecurity principles, including multi-factor authentication (MFA), threat protection, and basic knowledge of securing endpoints and devices in a cloud-managed environment.
- Demonstrated basic understanding of both on-premises (LAN) and cloud network configurations, administration, implementation, and troubleshooting, including familiarity with hybrid environments.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team focused on delivering high-quality customer service in a dynamic, tech-enabled work environment.
The rewards
- An annual salary range of $61,500 to $76,100 (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
- 19 day month working arrangement. Council is currently trialling a range of flexible working options. Subject to operational requirements, full time office staff will have access to a nine day fortnight, with a thirty minute lunch break. For the duration of the trial arrangement, staff will also have the option to apply to work a compressed four day work week, subject to operational requirements and approval.
