Jobs/Responsibilities

As Council’s Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of high quality and cost-effective community engagement strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring change management impacts to community are understood, communicated and managed appropriately
  • Developing and implementing initiatives to drive improvements to engagement strategies.
  • Provide advice and assist with the development of the Community Strategic Plan
  • Take initiatives to ensure relationships are maintained and Council’s reputation is upheld
  • Promote innovative engagement programs across Council.

Skills/Experience

To be successful in this position you will need:

  • Relevant qualifications in Communications or similar
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to obtain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Experience in a similar role
  • High level communication skills both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders including the public, media, community organisations, local businesses and government departments
