About the role
This is a 12 Month Fixed-Term position, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm working 35 hours per week. The position is located at the Nowra Administration Building.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade, however an appointment may be made at a higher step based on relevant skills and experience. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

Duties
Reporting directly to the Lead – Human Resources, the focus of this position is to:

  • Be responsible for assisting the Lead – Human Resources and the Senior HR Business Partner in the delivery of strategic and operational people and culture initiatives.
  • Be responsible for delivering high quality people outcomes to the assigned Directorate/s.
  • Provision of general HR advice, job design and evaluation, recruitment and selection, onboarding and probation, performance management, grievances, investigations, recognition and reward, remuneration systems and employee separations.
  • Review and maintain data in OneCouncil, and other systems used to complete duties, and identify and implement ways to improve data management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and statutory requirements

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will possess:

  • Degree level qualifications in human resources, employment relations, organisational development, business or a similar field, or proven related work experience at a HR business partner level
  • Experience in a multi-faceted human resources role in a complex and diverse organisation
  • Experience in partnering with organisational leaders with a proven track record of delivering quality people outcomes
  • Critical thinking and problem solving ability
  • Effective communication, influencing, negotiation and mediation skills
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship
