GRANT YOURSELF PERMISSION TO SHINE
To identify and lead Council’s grant’s function, enhancing access to grant funding that supports the delivery of services in alignment with Council’s Strategic Plans. This includes streamlining processes, strengthening communication, ensuring alignment with funding agreements, and increasing Council revenue through improved success in securing external funding.
Key Accountabilities:
- Identify and pursue grant opportunities that align with the strategic direction of council, including engaging stakeholders, seeking internal approvals, and leading the development and submission of high-quality grant applications.
- Administer the grants process in PULSE Project Management and Control Module.
- Maintain the unfunded projects register for identification of priority projects. To ensure high value, shovel ready projects, in preparedness for emerging funding opportunities.
- Liaise regularly with Executives, Managers, and Coordinators regarding grant submissions, available grants and future Council projects.
- Plan for and coordinate the preparation of grant funding submissions inclusive of all supporting documentation.
- Identify continuous improvement initiatives to ensure effective and efficient delivery of objectives.
- Consistently review external grant opportunities available, working with the Invest and Live team to communicate these grant opportunities to relevant business or community group stakeholders, and assisting in the preparation of third-party grant submissions from time to time.
- Establish professional networks with key stakeholders, particularly funding agencies.
- Support teams to ensure grant reporting and financial acquittal requirements are met (including submission of the reports/acquittals to the funding bodies); and
- Respond to and resolve enquiries and issues related to grant funding in a timely and effective way.

You are proactive and strategic and always on the lookout for funding opportunities that align with Council's goals and community needs. You’re a strong communicator, able to engage with internal teams, government agencies, and community stakeholders to build partnerships and deliver results. You’re adaptable and resilient, able to navigate shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and evolving funding landscapes with composure. You take ownership of your work, demonstrating accountability and initiative in driving projects from concept to completion. You’re a collaborative team player, who thrives in a cross-functional environment and contributes to a positive, solutions-focused culture.
We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:
- Tertiary qualifications e.g. Cert IV or Diploma in Project Management, Local Government or relevant field
- Current Class C Driver Licence
About the Role
Full time: 70-hour fortnight
Salary: Range from $72,602 to $88,634 pa + 11.5% super
