The Package: $99,512.00 - $108,913.00 gross per annum (Inclusive of market premium) + 11% super. (Evaluated as Grade 14 of the QPRC Salary System 2023) and guaranteed increases of 3.5% in 2024-25 and 3% in 2025-26, plus potential performance-based progression.

Full- time – 35 hours per week. Flexible work arrangements may apply.

Are you a passionate finance professional looking for a new challenge? Council is seeking a detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Grants and Contributions Accountant and join our Finance Team.

In this role you will:

  • Maintain Councils’ grants register, contracts liabilities and contract assets register.
  • Provide guidance, training, and information to Council staff to explain grant management responsibilities, systems, and procedures.
  • Prepare financial reports based on reconciliation of accounts and journal processing.
  • Prepare financial work papers, reconciliations, and reports over developer contributions income, project expenses, and balances in reserve.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Accredited tertiary qualifications in accounting and/or commerce.
  • Experience in preparation of financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Experience in financial planning, project accounting, and budgetary control.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in a local government finance environment and TechnologyOne suite will be highly desirable.
