Administration with a twist of insurance and law

The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of support to Council’s Governance Department. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Deliver a high level of administrative support to the Governance function of Council to ensure successful completion of key deliverables and legislative and regulatory requirements are met
  • Accurate and efficient data input and records management using a range of Council databases and software
  • Maintain the policy and delegation registers to ensure staff have access to updated/required documentation when required
  • Contribute to the review and development of Council’s Governance framework and the Integrated Planning and Reporting framework
  • Provide assistance in insurance claim processing as required and assist with the management of Council’s insurance portfolio in order to minimise cost and risk exposure
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and services provided by the role and team to ensure effective, efficient and safe delivery of objectives

We are looking for 

A critical thinker with an interest in local government, the legal system and/or insurance. You can work well within a team or autonomously and have an exceptional eye for detail. You will have demonstrated administrative experience and a positive attitude that will help you to adapt well to change. You are comfortable with being flexible to suit a rapidly changing environment. 

We are seeking someone who has:

  • Certificate III Business Administration or equivalent OR experience in a related environment
  • Class C Driver Licence

About the Role

Full time: 70-hour fortnight

Salary: Range from $65,832 to $75,706 pa + 11% super
