ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

We are seeking appropriately experienced and motivated individuals to provide a high level of support to Council's Geospatial functions within the Information Services team. Reporting to Council’s Coordinator Business Solutions, this position will provide a high level of assistance in the implementation, ongoing maintenance and management of the integrity of Council’s Geospatial databases and other Geospatial related systems.

The position is a member of a professional team providing quality customer service to Council’s internal and external customers.  The position will work closely with the Information Services section to ensure that section goals and objectives are achieved.

Council has two positions currently available, one permanent and one 12 month temporary term.  In addition, both part time and full time working arrangements will be considered. Preferred working arrangements will be discussed with shortlisted candidates at interview stage.

To be successful you will bring

  • Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council’s values of: creative, accessible, respect, energetic and
  • Certificate IV in geographical information or related field and/or equivalent experience in a Geospatial role.
  • Demonstrated experience in the operation of QGIS or similar Geospatial desktop application, and the FME software suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake a wide range of Geospatial-related maintenance activities.
  • Demonstrated spatial, analytical and problem solving skills.

The rewards

  • A full time annual salary range of $68,700 to $78,900 (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
  • 19 day month working arrangement (for full time staff). Council is currently trialling a range of flexible working options. Subject to operational requirements, full time office staff will have access to a nine day fortnight, with a thirty minute lunch break. For the duration of the trial arrangement, staff will also have the option to apply to work a compressed four day work week, subject to operational requirements and approval.
