Expressions of Interest are invited for the positions of General Assistant, based at Council's Ashford Works Depot. The successful applicants shall be a member of the North Section, and be responsible for the satisfactory execution of general road maintenance and construction duties.

Essential

Qualifications

  • NSW School Certificate/ Record of School Achievement or equivalent;
  • NSW Class C Drivers Licence;
  • Traffic Control Work Training Card (SafeWork NSW and/or Certification);
  • SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card ('White Card');

Desirable

Qualifications

  • NSW Class MR Drivers Licence;
  • National Licence to perform High Risk Work for Dogging (DG);

 

Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.  The classification for the position will be up to Operational Band 1, Level 2, Grade 2.  Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $999.85 to $1,054.90 gross per week.  In addition a Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $0.498 per hour will be paid where applicable.

The ordinary hours of work shall be spread between Monday and Friday inclusive and shall not exceed twelve (12) hours in any one day exclusive of unpaid meal breaks or seventy-six (76) hours per fortnight in terms of Clause 19 of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
