ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

We are currently seeking a suitably experienced and enthusiastic individual to join Council's road construction team. Reporting to the supervisor, the position of Ganger provides high level onsite assistance to monitor and supervise a small team of employees to deliver quality road construction activities, including earthworks, pavement surfacing, drainage and concreting.

  • Proven experience and ability to perform a range of road construction and maintenance functions, including earthworks, pavement, drainage and concrete work.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and supervise a team.
  • Proven experience in the operation of various plant items including basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Proven good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated good customer service skills with the ability to communicate with the community in a professional and courteous manner.

The rewards

  • A salary range of $61,400 to $70,500 per annum (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills and experience.
  • 9 day fortnight working arrangement. Council is currently trialling a range of flexible working options. Full time field staff will have the option to apply to work a compressed four day work week, subject to operational and team based requirements and approval.
