Supporting the General Manager, you'll be part of a collaborative team, working together to deliver high-quality service and entertainment.
The Venue
Flinders Street Wharves (FSW) will feature multiple indoor and outdoor dining spaces and bars including a rooftop bar designed for special events with a focus on tourism event attachments. The venue is centrally located in the heart of Townsville.
FSW will also include a new overwater restaurant and bar, The Docks, will be the first of its kind in North Queensland and will offer a more elevated experience with a Mediterranean inspired feel.
About the role
The role of Functions Coordinator is responsible for the entire process of planning, organizing, and executing various events, including, weddings, corporate gatherings, and social events. You will work with clients to understand their needs, manage budgets, coordinate logistics, and ensure that events run smoothly from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the setup, staffing, logistics, and breakdown of events.

Ensure smooth operation and high service standards during functions.

Handle customer inquiries and coordinate with the Restaurant Manager and Executive Head Chef.

Train and support banquet staff in function procedures.

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of function areas.

Address and resolve any issues that arise during events.

Ensure compliance with RSA, RSG, and other relevant regulations.

Provide feedback and report on post-event evaluations.
Experience and qualifications

Advanced knowledge of function operations and event planning.

Strong organisational and communication skills

Strong leadership and customer service skills.

Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Professional presentation and approachable nature.

Relevant experience and education.
