About the Opportunity

To help us achieve this we are seeking an experienced Fleet Services Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee and manage the Fleet Services section, including the operation of Council’s vehicular ferries and the management of works depots, ensuring effective fleet operations and plant procurement.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification or considerable contemporary experience in fleet management or related field along with demonstrated experience.
- Experience in asset management principles to achieve the best value outcomes
- Extensive experience in cost management responsibilities involving budgeting, servicing and asset utilisation
- Proven ability in managing regulatory compliance of light and heavy vehicle fleet
- Extensive experience in effectively communicating and negotiating with stakeholders in person, in writing and verbally
- Proven success in research, problem solving, and analysing data to develop and implement innovative solutions
- Highly advanced leadership and interpersonal skills with ability to successfully lead and manage teams
- Demonstrated understanding of managing work processes complying with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
On a typical day this role will:
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding plant and fleet requirements for Council, including light and heavy vehicle fleet.
- Undertake thorough planning and analysis across Fleet services in relation to plant procurement, budget monitoring and plant utilisation.
- Manage the day to day operations of Council’s vehicular ferries, including safety, compliance, servicing, maintenance and contract management
- Investigate and manage insurance matters of Council’s Fleet
- Manage Council’s three depot facilities with respect to building maintenance, supply contracts and oversee Council’s workshop activities
Remuneration and Benefits
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours per week
Salary (exclusive of super): In the range of $108,247 to $121,813 depending on skills and experience.
This role also qualifies for a Leaseback or Vehicle allowances
