The Role:

At Kempsey Shire Council, we're on the lookout for a forward-thinking leader who can steer our fleet operations into the future. In this key leadership position, you’ll drive performance, champion innovation, and help deliver safe, sustainable, and cost-effective outcomes for our organisation and the wider community.

As our Fleet and Logistics Manager, you’ll:

  • Oversee the full scope of our fleet, workshop and stores operations.
  • Drive the strategic direction of Council’s fleet and logistics operations.
  • Oversee a talented team of mechanics, technical officers, and logistics staff.
  • Manage fleet procurement, maintenance, replacement programs, and compliance.
  • Champion innovation through telematics and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice to senior leadership on performance, investment, and risk.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery with a strong focus on safety and environmental compliance.

About You:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Qualifications in a Mechanical trade and/or Logistics, Asset Management, Mechanical Engineering or related field, or otherwise significant equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in managing fleet operations, logistics, or mechanical services at a strategic level.
  • Detailed knowledge of fleet lifecycle management, compliance, and logistics systems.
  • Experience in managing diverse teams and complex operations.
  • Sharp financial skills – budgeting, forecasting, cost control.
