VES Electrical Solutions is a Victorian-based electrical engineering and manufacturing company specialising in the design and construction of high-quality electrical switchboards and control systems.

Our workshop builds a wide range of custom switchboards including main switchboards, motor control centres (MCCs), distribution boards and automation control panels for industrial and agricultural applications across Australia.

We are known for producing well-engineered, reliable switchboards that are built to a high standard and thoroughly tested before leaving our workshop. Our team combines practical electrical experience with strong engineering capability, allowing us to deliver solutions that perform in demanding real-world environments.

About the role: 

We are currently looking for a Trade Assistant / Storeperson to join our workshop team at our factory in Somerville. The successful candidate will have the relevant qualifications for the role outlined below: 

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

• Interstate deliveries (2 nights away per month)

• Assembling switchboards in factory

• Picking and packing orders

• Checking off received goods against delivery dockets

• Ordering parts and materials

• Carrying out stocktakes

• Housekeeping

• Loading trucks

• Assemble and layout switchgear and components according to specifications and drawings 

About you:

• Physically fit with a good attitude and willingness to learn

• Strong work ethic and dependable

• Strong communication skills for interaction with staff, management, and customers

• Ability to work independently 

• Available to work away for at least 2 nights per month on average 

• Detail oriented 

• Quick learner, committed to continual development 

• Commitment to maintaining a high standard of safety and work quality – we only accept excellence

• Forklift license (preferred, but not essential)

• Experience using hand and power tools is preferred

• Experience driving long distances 

• Experience with towing and reversing trailers
