Workload: Full-time
Pay Range: In accordance with the St Andrews Lutheran College Enterprise Agreement and experience level
Employment Basis: Fixed-Term Contract
Dates: Commences 15 October 2026 - Concludes 2 December 2026

The Role

St Andrews Lutheran College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join our Junior School team for Term 4. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about student growth, contemporary teaching practices, and creating engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity and confidence.

Working within a collaborative and supportive environment, you will contribute to the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of students while fostering a positive classroom culture aligned with the College's Christian values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated learning programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum.

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing and achievement.

  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress using effective assessment practices.

  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues to support student success.

  • Collaborate with teaching teams to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes.

  • Integrate innovative and contemporary teaching strategies that encourage lifelong learning.

  • Contribute positively to the Christian ethos, culture, and broader life of the College.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and Queensland teacher registration (or eligibility to obtain).

  • Experience teaching upper primary students, preferably within a Year 6 setting.

  • Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and contemporary pedagogical practices.

  • Excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills.

  • Effective communication, collaboration, and organisational abilities.

  • A commitment to fostering student wellbeing and achieving positive educational outcomes.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative teaching team.

  • A personal and professional commitment to supporting the Christian ethos, mission, and values of St Andrews Lutheran College.
