Commencing in a labour hire position with the view to go permanent within the first 3 months Your new company We are seeking an experienced Maintenance (Mechanical) Fitter to join a well-established manufacturing operation in Townsville.
This role works closely with the production team and focusses on maintaining and repairing fixed plant machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. You will be responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance across factory-based fixed plant equipment. Working as part of a collaborative production environment, you'll play a key role in minimising downtime and supporting daily output. Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant machinery Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs efficiently Work closely with production to support operational requirements
Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections Assist with continuous improvement and reliability initiatives Maintain a safe, tidy, and compliant work environment
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this position, you will have: Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (or equivalent)
Proven experience maintaining fixed plant equipment in a factory or industrial setting Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team
