The Chair of Theoretical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry, Technische Universität Dresden, invites applications for a PhD position (Research Associate, m/f/x) in the field of metal-free magnetism in graphene-related materials and organic two-dimensional crystals. The position is available as soon as possible and is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft as part of the Reinhart-Koselleck programme for innovative high risk-high gain research.

Requirements

– University degree in chemistry or physics

– Profound knowledge in computational and theoretical physics/chemistry

– Solid background in quantum mechanics and programming skills

– Ability to work collaboratively in a team

– Beneficial skills include materials chemistry, magnetism, theoretical chemistry, high-performance computing, and programming

Position Details

– Fixed-term contract for 3 years (65% of full-time weekly hours)

– Remuneration according to salary group E 13 TV-L

– Opportunity to pursue a PhD degree

– Work in an interdisciplinary group with access to state-of-the-art computing infrastructure
