Executive Assistant to CEO

Roper Gulf Regional Council is now seeking a highly motivated, exceptional with a can-do attitude, efficient and organised professional for the position of Executive Assistant (to the CEO) to provide leadership, direction, support and deliver compliant confidential secretarial support to the Chief Executive Officer.

In this role, you will ensure high quality office management systems are effectively managed. You will play a key role in developing systems and improving efficiencies to existing processes with the Office of the CEO.

More specifically, your duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing the CEO’s diary including arranging meetings and organising travels in response to priority and importance, and ensuring that the CEO is appropriately prepared and equipped;
  • Preparing timely and well-researched advice, briefings, reports, submissions and correspondence on corporate and community service issues;
  • Collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team to collate the monthly Council Agenda and Reports and submit to the CEO for approval taking care to prepare and amend as required;
  • Effectively communicate and engage with different levels of the organisation with a high degree of professionalism, accuracy and confidentiality;
  • Representing the OCEO by welcoming visitors, responding to meeting requests, gathering relevant information such as purpose of the proposed meeting and availability of the CEO.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Diploma or Advance Diploma in Local Government Administration/Business Administration or similar, or a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience providing executive assistance to Executive Management level in a professional environment;
  • Working knowledge of structure and role of Local Government, including  awareness of Local Government Act 2019 and associated regulations;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including high level written and verbal communication skills that result in effective and appropriate communication with a broad range of clients, customers and stakeholders;
  • Excellent computer skills with proven experience in the Microsoft Office Suite programs, with demonstrated competence in executive level correspondence, agenda and minute creation, diary management, report writing and collations;

 

By taking on this pivotal role, you will be rewarded with an attractive salary ranging from $94,306.67 to $103,764.67per annum (negotiated based on qualifications and experience) plus superannuation. Additional benefits include 6 weeks annual leave plus leave loading, 10 days sick leave, salary packaging options, and opportunities for personal and professional development.
