About the position

Narromine Shire Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual for the position of Executive Assistant Planning - Fixed term 12 months.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support for Council’s Planning Services, providing administrative assistance to the Director of Community and Economic Development when required.

The position is also responsible for ensuring all relevant planning reporting and acquittals occurs in accordance with Council and Government agencies requirements.

To be successful you will need to have:

Essential requirements

  • Proven ability to work cooperatively in a sensitive and confidential environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other technological applications.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and also able to work with minimal supervision. 
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
  • Class `C’ Drivers Licence.
  • WHS Construction Induction (White) card.

Desirable requirements

  • Certificate III in Business Administration or relevant experience.
  • Experience with development application tracking and management of data and document records.
  • Basic knowledge and skills in statutory legislation relating to the Planning area.
  • Local Government experience.

The details relating to this position are:

  • The position is graded 9 within Council's salary structure
  • The salary range is from $65,501 - $74,109 per annum plus superannuation. The salary step is determined by an annual competency assessment. 
  • 35 hour working week applies. NSC has a flexitime system whereby you may work 37.50 hours per week to bank 2.5 hours per week to be used at a later date.
  • Employment conditions are as per the Local Government (State) Award

  • Any other additional screening that may be relevant to the role
