The role

We are seeking a motivated Administrative Support Specialist to join our Economic and Destination Development team, to support the approval of events. This role will play a crucial part in providing administrative assistance to ensure the smooth operation of the event approval process for events held on Council-owned land. The position is a job-share arrangement and requires flexibility, including occasional work outside of core business hours to attend said events. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Economic and Destination Development team specifically the Events Attraction and Approvals team.
  • Liaise with event organisers and relevant internal stakeholders
  • Assist with continual improvements of the event approval process for internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and presentations.
  • Coordinate logistics for events, workshops, and community engagements.
  • Conduct research and compile data on events needed to support projects.

What you'll bring

  •  Excellent time management and organisational skills, including demonstrated ability to program activities, follow processes, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • TAFE Certificate or equivalent in Office Administration/Business Services or similar field.
  • Knowledge of local government events approval processes (desirable).

Salary: $35.16 per hour + superannuation 

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Part time, 14 hours per week, (2 days) 

Closing date: Sunday 14 July 2024 at 11.30 pm.
