As part of our dedicated team of five professionals, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure of council buildings and facilities across the city.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with a supportive group that values each member's contribution towards ensuring safe, functional, and well-maintained public spaces. You'll coordinate with internal staff, engage with the community, and work alongside trusted contractors, making sure that all projects align with our organizational goals and values.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a variety of tasks from electrical testing and installations to contributing to broader building maintenance. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a varied work environment, enjoys problem-solving, and keen on developing new skills.

This is a hands-on position. Applicants should be suitably fit to undertake the duties as outlined in the job description. There may be possibilities for overtime and weekend work, as well as an option to be on-call.

What you will be doing:

In this role, you'll manage a wide array of tasks involving electrical and general building maintenance across council facilities. Key responsibilities include performing electrical tests, installations, and maintenance, alongside procuring materials and maintaining detailed records. You will collaborate with the Building Coordinator to develop work schedules ensuring all tasks meet safety and professional standards. Additionally, you'll handle administrative duties like updating databases and managing job cards, therefore solid basic IT skills are essential for this role . This position demands a professional approach to maintaining and enhancing electrical infrastructure, requiring both technical skills and the ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with team members and the community.

  • You have dynamic problem-solving skills, being able to prioritise unplanned work as well as scheduled maintenance.
