Sheet Metal Duct Installer

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Duct Installer to join a growing team. This is a full-time, on-site role based across Canberra, ACT and Gundaroo, NSW. You’ll be responsible for assembling and installing sheet metal ductwork in line with project requirements and industry standards, while maintaining a high level of workmanship and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of sheet metal ductwork and HVAC systems
• Measuring, cutting, and assembling duct components
• Reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and specifications
• Liaising with builders and other service contractors for on-site coordination
• Working independently and as part of a team
• Guiding junior team members and sharing trade knowledge
• Ensuring all work complies with safety and building regulations

Requirements

• Minimum 6+ years’ experience in sheet metal duct installation or similar trade
• Ability to work independently and problem-solve on the go
• Strong understanding of mechanical services and equipment installation
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Experience with site measures and installation processes
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and construction practices
• Physically capable of lifting and handling materials as required
• White Card (Construction Induction Card)
• Relevant training certificates (Silica, Asbestos awareness, etc.)
• Reliable transport and willingness to work on-site in Gundaroo, NSW
• Own tools preferred
• EWP ticket advantageous
