General Medicine Registrar / Principal House Officer

As the region’s leading tertiary hub, Rockhampton supports surrounding hospitals in Gladstone, Emerald, Yeppoon, Biloela, and rural units, providing complex acute care to a diverse population.
We are seeking committed and motivated **General Medicine Registrars / Principal House Officers (PHOs)** to join the team and contribute to a high-quality, evidence-based medical service.
The Role
In this role, you will work closely with Staff Specialists and Senior Medical Officers to manage patients presenting with acute and urgent medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities Include
Delivering high-quality general medical care aligned with evidence-based best practice Maintaining accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation, including transfer notes and discharge summaries Gaining proficiency in the medical management of patients within the surgical department (with senior support) Participating in inpatient care, clinical reviews, and multidisciplinary team discussions
This is an excellent opportunity for international doctors seeking Level 3 supervision and those advancing toward Basic Physician Training pathways.
You Will Be a Dedicated Clinician With
**MBBS or equivalent**, eligible for AHPRA registration at **Level 3 supervision** **AMC MCQ (Part 1)** completed (if trained outside Australia) **English language test (IELTS/OET)** completed within the required timeframe (if applicable) **Recency of practice**, supported by referee reports **Current Basic Life Support (BLS)** certification Strong communication, teamwork and clinical decision-making skills
Doctors trained in the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada or NZ (Competent Authority Pathway candidates) are encouraged to apply.
**Remuneration up to $177,890 p.a. including:**
Base salary: **$134,489 – $147,585** (L4–L7) Base salary: **$134,489 – $155,125** (L4–L9) **12.75% employer superannuation** **17.5% annual leave loading**
