What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, you will play a key role in leading and coordinating Drill & Blast operations at Curragh, working a lifestyle-friendly 7/7 day shift-only roster.

Role

In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll oversee drilling and explosives contractors to safely and efficiently meet short-term targets, while ensuring full compliance with statutory obligations and site safety standards, the keys to success in this role include:

Ensuring all aspects of the D&B operation follow the Curragh SHMS through leadership of D&B process and monitoring the daily tasks of contracting partners to ensure safe practices are used at all times.Providing direction to D&B contractors on daily and weekly operations and auditing of D&B practices to ensure safety compliance.Supporting and collaborating with other departments where required to ensure Curragh's overall objectives are achievedLead by example, set clear expectations, review work regularly, provide meaningful feedback, hold self and team members to account and recognise effort.

What You’ll Bring

A high level of open-pit mining experience, with strong knowledge of Drill & Blast methodologies.Demonstrated experience leading small, specialised teams to meet deadlines and deliver safe, effective outcomes.S123 and SSAN certifications (or the ability to obtain them).Shotfirer’s Certificate and Trainer Assessor qualifications (highly regarded).
