ADD VALUE - THE ROLE

This role is primarily responsible for assisting in the assessment of new connections to Council’s water and sewer infrastructure (including development assessment and water, sewer and pressure sewer applications), assisting to ensure compliance with Council’s engineering specifications, assist in investigating the hydraulic capacity of Council’s water and sewer systems as well as long term infrastructure planning, particularly relating to growth. The position is required to assist in undertaking investigations of the hydraulic capacity within the water and sewer network and assist in undertaking assessments for new developments determining the upgrades required to support future development in order to ensure Council is able to meet its customer services, environmental and regulatory requirements. 

The Development Engineer Intern - Water and Sewer role is ideally suited to a student looking for a temporary position during their university break/s offering paid on-the-job experience whilst studying towards a relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field. 

This position is offered on a term contract (3 months), full-time basis working 35 hours per week, or on a fixed-term casual basis for you to work with us 2 or 3 days a week during term time.

Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 9 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $73,908 - $83,137 per annum (pro-rata) or $50.76/hr-$57.10/hr on a casual basis plus superannuation.
