About the Opportunity

The NSW Department of Planning have advised several updates to the NSW ePlanning portal which will impact existing processes including Building Information Certificates, introduction of Road Act Applicationsand enhancement of compliance certificates and appropriate fee charging under the Water Management Act 2000.

The Development/Certificates Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the lodgement, amendment and determination of certification applications and certificates received by the Planning and Certification Department. The role will work closely with development assessment staff in the Planning and Certification Department and the Operations and Infrastructure Directorates to ensure assessment timelines are met and urgent tasks are actioned promptly. In addition, this role will actively monitor Council's ePlanning portal to ensure efficient and compliant processes.

Therefore, for this exciting role, we are looking for a person that has proven strong administrative experience and is comfortable working in a fast paced, hands-on, customer orientated and collaborative environment. This role will require a person that has great communication skills and has the ability to meet required timelines. Previous experience in local government would be advantageous. 

Essential Criteria

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

Essential:

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent qualification OR extensive administrative or development/certification experience
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar role
  • Advanced computer skills and demonstrated ability in the use of a range of computer software
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a tactful, professional, courteous and efficient manner
  • Current and maintained NSW Drivers Licence
  • Right to live and work in Australia

Desirable:

  • Experience in local government
  • Experience in the coordination of development and building certification applications and certificates

Benefits for you

  • The Grade applicable to the position is Grade 10 within Council's salary structure. 
  • The annual salary range is $65,832 ($36.17/hr) to 75,706 ($41.60/hr). Starting salary to be determined dependent upon the qualifications and experience of successful applicant
  • 35 hour working week with a fortnightly accrued off
  • Employer Superannuation of 11% applies
