The Opportunity

Reporting to the Group Leader Technical Services, this role is responsible for the investigation and development of project designs for community infrastructure within the Council area. Working within a small design team, the position will be responsible for management of designs across a broad range of areas including; civil earthworks and road pavements, stormwater drainage, parks, playgrounds and buildings/structures. The position may be required to undertake management of small construction projects from time to time and to oversee Council’s road safety program.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Civil or Construction) or similar, and demonstrated experience in the design of public infrastructure,
  • solid understanding of road design and CAD packages (e.g. Autocad/12D/Civil 3D and DRAINS),
  • experience in the preparation of tender proposals and technical report writing.

To succeed in the role, you will have the ability to undertake complex analysis, develop detailed design drawings and reports, and demonstrate high level analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills.

Annual salary of $95,322 to $108,644 (plus super and 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance).

Please note:  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.  For a continuing position, you must be an Australian New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.

Australian Temporary Residents may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
