About the Role

Football South Coast is seeking an energetic, innovative, and community-focused Club Development & Community Engagement Manager to play a key leadership role in the growth and long-term sustainability of football across the region.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who is passionate about community sport, relationship building, strategic planning, and driving positive football experiences across all levels of the game.

Reporting to the CEO, the role will work closely with clubs, volunteers, schools, councils, sponsors, and community stakeholders to strengthen club capability, support strategic initiatives, grow participation, and enhance the visibility and reputation of Football South Coast.

The successful candidate will lead a range of club development, community engagement, strategic planning, marketing, communications, and participation initiatives aligned to Football South Coast’s long-term vision and strategic priorities.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Strategic Planning & Club Development

  • Support the implementation of Football South Coast’s strategic plan and key operational priorities

  • Assist clubs in strategic planning, governance, sustainability, and operational capability

  • Lead and support club development initiatives aligned to long-term growth objectives

  • Support the implementation of club unification initiatives and long-term club sustainability planning

  • Assist in identifying emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges across the football landscape

  • Contribute to organisational planning, stakeholder engagement strategies, and community growth initiatives

Community Engagement & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clubs, schools, councils, sponsors, and community stakeholders

  • Coordinate community football initiatives, engagement programs, and activations

  • Represent Football South Coast at meetings, forums, events, and community functions

  • Develop strategic partnerships that strengthen football participation and community connection

  • Promote inclusive and accessible football opportunities across the region

Marketing, Communications & Brand Strategy

  • Assist in the development and implementation of Football South Coast’s marketing and communications strategy

  • Support the promotion and visibility of FSC competitions, programs, events, and strategic initiatives

  • Coordinate engaging digital content, storytelling, and promotional campaigns across FSC platforms

  • Assist in managing and growing FSC’s social media presence, engagement, and brand awareness

  • Promote positive football stories showcasing clubs, volunteers, coaches, referees, players, and community achievements

  • Support sponsor visibility, commercial partnerships, and community engagement opportunities

  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across FSC communications and promotional activities

Volunteer & Workforce Development

  • Develop volunteer education, support, and recognition initiatives

  • Assist clubs with volunteer recruitment, retention, and succession planning

  • Support leadership development opportunities within clubs and the wider football community

  • Promote positive club culture and community engagement outcomes

Grants, Funding & Infrastructure Support

  • Assist clubs in identifying and applying for grants and funding opportunities

  • Support infrastructure and community funding submissions

  • Work collaboratively with councils and funding stakeholders

  • Assist clubs with facility planning, sustainability initiatives, and long-term infrastructure priorities

Female Football & Inclusion

  • Support clubs in developing inclusive and welcoming football environments

  • Assist with women’s and girls’ football growth initiatives

  • Promote diversity, accessibility, and inclusion across all areas of the game

  • Support female participation, leadership, and volunteer opportunities within clubs

Key Skills & Experience Required

Essential Skills

  • Strong strategic thinking and planning capability

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Strong understanding of marketing, communications, and community engagement

  • Ability to engage effectively with clubs, volunteers, councils, sponsors, and stakeholders

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving capability

  • Passion for community sport and football development

Desired Experience

  • Experience working within community sport, football, club development, marketing, or participation environments

  • Experience in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, or community development

  • Experience coordinating events, activations, or community initiatives

  • Experience managing social media and digital engagement platforms

  • Understanding of governance, club operations, and volunteer environments

  • Understanding of women’s and girls’ football growth initiatives is highly regarded

  • Knowledge of Football NSW and Football Australia community frameworks is desirable

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in Sport Management, Community Development, Marketing, Communications, Business, or related fields (desirable)

  • Current Working With Children Check

  • Current Driver’s Licence

  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends when required
