The role & you

This position will report to the Senior Development & Building Advisory Officer, and is part of the Customer Experience team where you will be the first point of contact with our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for handling enquiries related to statutory planning and building services as well as lodgement and processing of development and building related applications.

You will be responsible for providing timely, accurate information and assistance to customers whilst ensuring a consistent, quality customer experience is delivered each and every time.  This will require an individual with strong communication skills and confidence in liaising and interacting with the general public. Having a positive and proactive manner will ensure you can successfully build trust within the team, which in turn, will support the delivery of quality services across the local community.  

The successful candidate will hold: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Customer Engagement, Business Administration or similar and/or relevant significant related work experience. 
  • Demonstrated skills in dealing with a diverse range of customers and enquiries coupled with strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the professional and legislative requirements within the scope of the role would be advantageous.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $61,800 p.a. plus superannuation. 

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.

Closing date: Sunday 26 May 2024 at 11.30pm.
