Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to work within our Finance Team as a Customer Service Officer

Permanent Full-Time– 35 hours per week (with the option to work part-time)

  • Location - Moree
  • Attractive Salary ranging from $1,088.80 up to $1,248.95 (PLUS Superannuation) depending on qualifications and experience

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Customer Service Officer you will be required to provide prompt, efficient and effective service to both external and internal customers of Moree Plains Shire Council to achieve a satisfactory outcome to all matters raised.  Positions will also be required to collect all monies due to Council by way of rates, charges, contributions, fees and subsidies legitimately recoverable by Council and maintain the integrity of Council's banking and receipting functions.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023.

ABOUT YOU

Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications: 

  • Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent.  (Administration). (Applicants who do not hold this qualification are encouraged to apply but will be required to commit to such qualifications upon commencement). 
  • Relevant work experience in a customer service role with a willingness to commit to further training and development as required.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong customer service focus.
  • Good analytical skills with demonstrated ability to determine outcomes and prioritise issues.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work both as a team member and unsupervised.
  • Well developed level of literacy, numeracy, problem soving and record keeping with the ability to clearly communicate and translate technical or numerical information to  a diverse range of people.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel packages.
  • NSW Criminal History check
