Coordinator, Waste Strategy and Education

Full-time – Ongoing

Position Number: 6013

Location: Queanbeyan

The Package: $122,677.88 - $135,564.00 gross per annum + 11.5% super. (Evaluated as Grade 18 of the QPRC Salary System 2024) and a guaranteed increase of 3% in 2025-26, plus potential performance-based progression.

Full-time– 35 hours per week. Flexible work arrangement will be considered.

Are you passionate about leading a team to investigate and research emerging waste issues, and implementing innovative solutions in an operationally diverse local government?

In this role you will:

  • Effectively lead and manage the Waste Education and Strategy team.
  • Investigate and research emerging waste management issues and develop appropriate responses to ensure improvements in waste management outcomes across Queanbeyan-Palerang.
  • Manage contracts in accordance with legislative requirement and Council policies.

 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has relevant qualifications in Waste Management, Project Management, Environmental Management and/or substantial working experience.
  • Can demonstrate a strong understanding of waste minimization trends, including relevant NSW legislation and its application to waste management.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to provide a high level of customer service through email, face to face and other mediums and experience in leadership.
